Life at Keighley College
Students can access the gym free of charge during term time. Students wishing to use the gym must wear appropriate gym kit and footwear.
Tues 11.00am – 12.30pm
Fri 1.30 -3.00pm
The College runs a number of sporting activities including table tennis, zumba and football. New activities are introduced throughout the year and are publicised around the college.
Each year the College run a number of fundraising activities which support both local and national charities. Whilst all students are encouraged to join in activities, Fundraising forms part of Level 1 study programme.
“My team challenge was to raise funds for Manorlands. I decided to have my legs waxed in the college atrium and collect money through sponsorship. Although I felt as if I was going to pass out during the waxing I felt good about helping charity”

The College actively encourages students to participate in volunteering opportunities. It is recognised volunteering offers students the opportunity to meet new people, have fun and develop essential employability skills. Examples of volunteering students have participated in are marshalling at sports events, working in a charity shop, supporting at a youth club and running community events.
Duke of Edinburgh
The College offers the opportunity for students to undertake the nationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh Award.
To achieve this award a student will need to demonstrate they have participated in the following:
- Developed a new skill
- Attended regular fitness/exercise
- Carried out an expedition
A small fee is covered to cover registration and camping costs.
Students get the opportunity to participate in a number of Enterprise activities. Working with a number of local business students carry out projects to develop new ideas and products before pitching in the ‘dragons den’.
Examples of enterprise activities:
Business students produced mobile bars for festivals and garden parties for Timothy Taylors brewery. The winning design was then taken forward to manufacturing.
Foundation Learning Students run KC Café providing students and staff with delicious lunches.
