Our exciting T Levels are a new 2-year high quality, technical qualification, developed in collaboration with employers in the sector.
If you would like to know more about working in the education and childcare profession, and want to develop some practical experience at the same time, read on!
This programme is designed to provide all learners with the opportunity to transfer knowledge into the real world and experience that hands-on activity in the workplace. You will study the role of education and childcare and the impact that educators have on children.
Over the two years learners will take part in 45-60 days in an external industry placement, which will ensure that you develop and deepen your technical knowledge and skills, as well as behaviours appropriate for a professional educator or carer of children.
Learners who successfully achieve the Early Years Education and Childcare occupational specialism will be counted in the employment ratios for childcare.
These Level 3 technical qualifications will provide learners with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher level technical training or study in your chosen sector. The core knowledge and understanding will be assessed through an examination and core skills through a practical employer-set project. In addition to this, maths, English and general digital skills will be integrated within the qualification in occupationally relevant context.
The specialist qualifications give learners lots of options! They are designed to provide progression into highly skilled employment, a higher apprenticeship or university. Taught in our newly designed 21st Century learning environments, this qualification is equivalent to 3 A-Levels and provides learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to be successful and in control of their own learning. Learners will spend 80% of your time in College and 20% (45 to 60) days on an industry placement with an employer. You will be allocated a personal tutor who will assist and support you throughout the programme.
Entry RequirementsYou will need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths. For Childcare & Education, you will also need a science-related GCSE at grade 4 or above.
Learners will complete at least one module of occupation-specific content depending on the capacity of the local learning provider. This part of the T Level ensures students develop the knowledge and skills for specific occupations.
