    BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Art and Design. This is an accredited course, designed to be completed over one year and is taught alongside English and Maths. (With the expectation that students will progress on to the BTEC Level 2 Diploma).

    The course provides an introduction to the art and design sector, and it enables students to make informed choices whilst developing and applying their knowledge.

  • Who is this course for?

    This level 1 qualification is aimed at students over the age of 16 who wish to develop their knowledge and skills which are needed to progress to further study and ultimately a career in the art and design.
  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above with a strong interest in art and design. This may be evidenced through a portfolio or qualification.
  • Assessment Types

    Students are assessed on the work that they produce throughout the year.
  • Units/Modules

    The units cover painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking as well research and you will have the opportunity to experiment with different ideas and themes.
