Overview
Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technicians work in the building services sector of the construction industry. They plan, Install, service and maintain plumbing and heating systems, including water spipplies, pipework, sanitary fittings and furniture. Appliances/equipment includes boilers, furniture, drainage and rainwater systems. Technicians may specialise in installation and maintenance of: domestic gas fired hot water heating appliances, domestic air source heat pumps and solar thermal systems, or non-domestic plumbing (hospitals, schools, public buildings, industrial/commercial premises). The role involves working in homes, on building sites, independently or in a team. As technicians will work directly with customers/end users, customer service skills are essential. -
Entry Requirements
The employer will agree to entry requirements for these apprenticeships. There are no formal entry requirements but GCSE grade 4 and above or equivalent in English and Maths would be an advantage. -
