Craft Bricklayers build and repair complex structures like chimneys and decorative walls, plan and organise work, check quality, and provide technical guidance, direction, and problem-solving support to their team.
  • Overview

    Craft bricklayers are highly skilled construction professionals who specialise in complex brickwork and masonry features, including arches, chimneys, radial and decorative walls. They work across a wide range of projects, from refurbishments and heritage restorations to large-scale commercial builds. As technical experts, they are responsible for setting out and laying bricks and blocks accurately to plans and specifications, ensuring high standards of quality and finish. They often take a leadership role on-site, planning work, supervising others, and providing advice on techniques and problem- solving. Craft bricklayers also prioritise health, safety, and environmental considerations, helping to promote sustainable construction practices across their teams.
  • Entry Requirements

    The employer will agree to entry requirements for these apprenticeships. There are no formal entry requirements but GCSE grade 4 and above or equivalent in English and Maths would be an advantage.
