  • Overview

    This qualification is designed to provide a technical introduction to digital games production. Learners develop skills in areas such as games engine scripting, 3D modelling and environment and games testing.

    This qualification is for post-16 learners who are looking to progress to higher or degree apprenticeships, employment or to further education or training.

    This course is equivalent in size to one A Level and lasts one year.

  • Entry Requirements

    A minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Mathematics and English.
  • Assessment Types

    The course includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. There are two main forms of assessment; external and internal.
  • Units/Modules

    You will study the following units:

    • Media Representations
    • Pre Production Portfolio
    • Responding to a Commission
    • Computer Games Production
  • Benefits/Skills

    In addition to studying your main programme you will follow a course to improve your cognitive, problem solving and employability skills. Learners will also develop their study and research skills.
  • Careers/Progression

    The course will give you the opportunity to progress on to a HND/Foundation degree in areas such as Computing, Multimedia or Computer Game Design/Development.

    The qualification is also excellent preparation for a career in many branches of the computing industries.
