Overview
A Level 2 qualification in Engineering Operations (Skills) is a practical, hands-on program that focuses on developing essential engineering skills, such as using workshop equipment, hand fitting, and assembly. This qualification is typically pursued as part of an apprenticeship but is also available for independent learners.
It provides a solid foundation in engineering principles, workplace safety, and the use of technical information. Participants will gain transferable skills that are highly valued by employers, including the ability to work efficiently and effectively, which contributes to improved business performance.
Importantly, learners will also acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to perform tasks in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Individuals who enter this program without a GCSE Grade 4 in English Language or Maths will be required to enhance their skills in these areas through additional GCSE study.
Additionally, learners will need to supply their own personal protective equipment for workshop tasks. This includes safety boots, safety eyewear, and overalls. Guidance on selecting the appropriate equipment will be provided during the interview or taster courses.
