Overview
If you have an eye for design, an interest in materials and how to use these to create works of art, capture your creativity and hone your artistic talent with A level Art, Design & Textiles. This course teaches you the technical skills needed to optimise your creativity. Develop the skills that will help you showcase your imagination and artistic experimentation.
Exploring traditional and contemporary methods, including drawing, stitching, printing, knitting and weaving, you will develop an understanding of how to create using different materials. The course will teach you how to use brushes, pens, pencils, as well as less conventional tools, in order to maximise the expression of your creativity.
You will learn the techniques needed to express your ideas and study the work of artists and designers to inspire and inform your own creative thinking. As well as improving technique, you will also develop your appreciation of the visual world in which you live.

Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English and maths. A grade 9-4 in a creative subject or an interest in the subject is also desirable.
There are no formal additional entry requirements for this subject, however, previous study of an art-based subject is desirable. All students will spend the first two weeks of the course completing an assessment.

A level Art, Design & Textiles, prepares you for further study in a number of art-related subjects such as fine art, graphic design, art history, illustration, interior design and architecture. Career opportunities include animation, illustration, product design and marketing.
