Each A level course will have different requirements, but most require 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4. Some subjects will require specific GCSEs and grades. Please see our course pages for more details.
If you are concerned about your predicted grades, please do call us to discuss your options – we will always consider your personal circumstances. Our friendly team is on hand to help you find the best course for you: speak to them on 01535 685000.
Not sure what’s right for you? Our open events are the perfect place to meet with tutors and to discover if A levels are the best path.
That’s completely up to you! Unlike GCSEs, there are no subjects that you have to take. It is worth thinking about what interests you the most and which subjects you want to further your knowledge in. Some subjects you might not have had the opportunity to study before so they are a good chance to explore a new area.
If you are planning to go to university or have a career in mind, have a think about which A levels might be most useful for that area. For example, Business and Maths A levels could be helpful for going into finance – or choose Law and Psychology to demonstrate your ability for critical thinking.
Most of our A levels require 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4. Some subjects will require specific GCSEs and grades. Please see our course pages for more details.

Typically students choose to do three A levels but in some cases there may be flexibility on this. For example, our pathways combine two A levels with an alternative level three qualification.
If you are unsure, our team will be happy to help you decide.
Our A level pathways combine traditional learning with employability skills and industry insight that supports progression into the workplace. We have three options:
A levels can lead directly into work and make you more attractive to employers. Alternatively, you can develop your knowledge even further by going to university – or you can start an apprenticeship, allowing you to earn while you learn. If you choose to go to university, A levels convert to UCAS points. How many points they are worth depends on what grade you achieve. Some degrees require certain A level subjects.
A levels are free for students aged 16-18. If you are 19+ then please have a look at our funding options.
Keighley College has a wide range of enrichment activities that you can take part in alongside your studies. All students are able to use our on-site gym.
We have other study options available too, so if A levels don’t seem like the right choice for you, we also offer apprenticeships, T levels and vocational courses.
Once you’ve decided on your course, complete the application form online here. Our admissions team will then review your application and be in touch to help you begin your journey with us.
