Chummy’s Blog – A pawsome time at Keighley College
It’s another barking Monday here at Keighley College – well for me it is. Been to the gym and exercised my paws, it was quite nice to get some applause!
Anyway, we had a rather interesting week last week. The beast from the east hit us and hit us hard – but oh boy, I secretly enjoyed every minute of it, including chilling in my bespoke onesie – everyone should have one of those.
Blizzards, snow storms, snow drifts, snowmen, inches and inches of deep white snow. I loved it. My paws were freezing but my heart was warm as I rolled and wriggled in the snow.
On the flipside, the college was closed most of last week and sadly, all the exciting events we had planned, that included the Women in Engineering event and the Careers and Jobs Fair had to be ‘pawsponed’, much to our dismay. The good news is, the Careers and Jobs Fair has been rescheduled and will be held on 19 April. Hope you can make it!
Please keep checking our website and social media for the new date for our Women in Engineering event– this will be a unique opportunity and great fun, so get your engineering hats ready!
In other news, some of the KC team went to the TES awards in London. Keighley College was shortlisted for the Employer Engagement awards – we didn’t win on the night but, to have been nominated is a win for us! Our team should be truly proud.
Let’s talk sport!
This year’s sports relief is rolling up fast – I’ve already entered myself into FIVE sports, hence the gym kick. We have a range of activities that include:
- Pool tournament – how accurate is your aim?
- Table tennisathon: doubles see how long you can go for?
- Hoola hoopathon – how long can you hoopla for?
- Penalty shootout & Keepy Upey’s
Fundraising events begin next week Monday 19 March and will run until 23 March. Let’s get involved and raise lots and lots of money! You might get a Chummy cuddle too if you’re lucky.
Have a fab week.
Paws of love and snuggles,
