Students’ Union

Keighley College Student Union (SU) has its own committee but forms part of Leeds City College SU. All post sixteen students are automatically a member of the SU. If you wish to opt out of being an SU member then you must request this in writing to Melanine.halstead@leedscitycollege.ac.uk

On students’ behalf the SU will:

  • Provide advice and support with college issues
  • Organise trips, events and activities
  • Support to create and run societies
  • Provide work experience and volunteering opportunities
  • Representation at senior college meetings
  • National representation with NUS

You can get involved in various activities, such as running to be an ambassador representing students views on committee. Each year the SU have a number of paid sabbatical posts which are elected by the student body.

Through the Students’ Union, you’re also able to buy an NUS extra card for just £12, which gives you access to hundreds of discounts locally and nationally… and even further afield as it’s also an ISIC card for international students! As if all these deals weren’t enough, the LCCSU Student Platform gives you even more local and national exclusive offers – and it’s completely free to register!
