The course will equip the learner with a Level 2 qualification to enable progression onto one of the Level 3 Access to HE courses to prepare you for university.

Overview
Aimed primarily at learners who wish to pursue a career in one of the health/social care professions which require academic study at university, but who are not yet ready to study at Level 3.
Learners who may not have maths and English at GCSE/Level 2 can study these alongside the certificate.

Who is this course for?
The course is designed for learners who have been out of the classroom for a period of time and may need to secure their maths and English at Level 2/ GCSE before moving on to a Level 3 course.
The course would be suitable for anyone wanting to begin their journey to work in work in a variety of fields within the health or social care industry. This includes but is not limited to nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, paramedic science or social work.
Funding for the course is available for all 19-23 year olds with a previous full Level 2 qualification and funding is in place for all learners aged 24+ with or without a previous Level 2 qualification.

There are no formal qualifications needed. Suitability for the course will be determined at interview. -
Assessment Types
Various assessment methods across the course. There are no formal end of year exams. -
Units/Modules
A mix of units that will teach the necessary academic and IT skills needed to build confidence with academic writing. Alongside this there will be units that will introduce the learner to areas of the Health/Social Care Professions. -
