Overview
This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.
Taught sessions will amount to 3 hours a week, and students are expected to commit another 3 hours a week to self-study in your own time.
To gain a qualification you will complete tasks which will take the form of an assessment in class.

This course has no formal entry requirements. -
Units/Modules
To achieve the Award the learner must complete 3 mandatory units:
1: Understand schools as organisations
2: Understand how to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well
3: Understand how to communicate with children, young people and adults

Careers/Progression
Upon satisfactory completion of this course, you will receive a Level 1 qualification.
Learners can progress onto the Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges or the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
