Clinical healthcare support workers/healthcare assistants provide vital assistance to healthcare professionals in diagnosing, treating and caring for patients. Clinical healthcare support workers work in a variety of healthcare settings, depending upon their role, including:
- A specific hospital department (e.g. stroke care, gastroenterology or oncology)
- A community clinic or health centre
- Patients’ homes
- Care homes
- A GP clinic

You could work in various clinical healthcare support roles to provide patient care in a range of setting such as a healthcare assistant or clinical healthcare support worker.
Candidates are required to achieve L1 at English and Maths Initial Assessments to enrol onto the programme. If candidates do not achieve L1 support is available in college to up skill in these areas before enrolment onto the programme.
