This course provides an excellent opportunity for students to enter this excising and creative world. It is designed to help students launch a new career or progress their existing skills as a stylist.
The highly motivated staff who teach on this programme are anticipating working with enthusiastic, dedicated pro-active students who wish to become successful hairdressers in a worldwide market.
This programme incorporates both theory and practical units to encompass a broad treatment base in beauty therapies.
The practical elements are consolidated by the underpinning theory elements.

- Colour hair to create a variety of looks
- Cut hair to create a variety of looks
- Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques
- Promote and sell products and services to clients
- Hair colour and Hair colour correction
- Creative hairdressing design skills correction
Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of monitoring health and safety whilst working in the hairdressing industry. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned through this qualification.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to an advanced level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services as well as support others.
Assignments, practical input, practical observation in a realistic practical working environment, work-based assignments, reflection and evaluation journals, continuous feedback.
Classrooms, salons and external work placement
You should have a full Level 2 VRG or NVQ Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing. You should also have good communication skills, practical skills and have a good level of artistic flair. Selection is by interview, reference and previous qualification.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to an advanced level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services as well as support others. This is a professional level qualification which is recognised within the industry, allowing successful candidates to progress onto employment.
