Overview
Please note that these courses are only available for students aged 19+.
These evening courses are specifically for people who have a keen interest in welding, and want to further that knowledge and skills in this discipline. This can be done as a stand-alone qualification purely for the student, as an addition to an apprenticeship framework, or requested by businesses to up-skill their employees.
Due to this, there could be a wide range of people with varying levels of expertise in the class. The courses mentioned above are detailed as such:
- MIG – Manual Inert Gas
- TIG – Tungsten Inert Gas
- MMA – Manual Metal Arc

Entry Requirements
You have to be 19 or over by or on 31st August in the year the course starts. -
Assessment Types
You will be assessed through practical weld tests, oral knowledge questions on health and safety, and welding processes. -
Units/Modules
Depending on your interest or choice of Manual Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Manual Metal Arc (MMA) you will learn about welding, you will also gain knowledge on health and safety in the welding environment. You will be learning welding working with industry-standard machines. -
