DIY Plumbing: This is a part-time evening course for adults only, running from 6-9pm on Wednesdays for 6 weeks.
*As an ad-hoc course, we have to receive a minimum number of applications before the course will run. Any applications will be kept on file and people will be contacted once we have enough applications to run the course.*

Are you a budding DIY person wanting to understand how basic plumbing systems work? This is a hands on introduction to basic plumbing aimed at those who wish to learn DIY techniques for home maintenance or estates management.
This is a part-time course running for 6 weeks on Wednesdays, from 6 until 9pm. Courses are run on an ad-hoc basis dependent on numbers.
- Introduction to plumbing materials
- Fitting identification
- Jointing techniques – copper/plastic/iron
- Jointing exercises – to include all testing if pipework
- Bending exercises
- Rainwater systems to include guttering and drainage
- Repairs to include taps/WC’s/ball valves
- Radiator removal/replace
- Washing machine install/Dishwasher install
- Plumbing systems explanation
A basic understanding of common plumbing techniques useful for any home.
On-going support and feedback – no exams
A college certificate will be provided upon completion.
Keighley College have a purpose-built plumbing workshop, in which all lessons will take place.
All students must be 19 or over to be eligible for this course.
No previous experience or knowledge is necessary.
Students may enjoy this course enough they wish to take it further by undertaking a City and Guilds Plumbing Level 2 course. Alternatively, you may wish to simply use your new-found skills for work around the house.
