This qualification develops the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child.

This qualification develops the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child.

There is a choice of units – from setting a routine through to healthy lifestyles and the importance of play and learning.

Practical skills of how to care for, and play with children and young people. Theory and practice links.

It will be assessed by your tutor using a range of methods. This could include tasks set by tutors such as designing charts or leaflets, or methods such as oral questioning.

The course will be delivered at Keighley College in classrooms, lecture theatre, practical workshop and observation in childcare settings.

Anyone who wants to develop parenting, knowledge of childcare and life skills, including those with special educational needs or where English is an additional language.

We can support you in preparing for your next steps either by preparing you for work or you can progress to Level 1 Caring for Children.
