A multi-skills course which introduces you to the four main areas within the construction industry preparing you for progression onto specialist courses or apprenticeships.

Overview
This qualification provides the ideal introduction to the construction industry and covers essential skills in the following construction trades: bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, electrical and plumbing. All four trades will be covered throughout the year providing a strong foundation for entry onto higher level courses or apprenticeships.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but applicants must have a commitment to learning. You will be interviewed for your suitability.
If you are under 19 and you do not already have English & Maths GCSE grades 9-4 or equivalent you will be required to undertake GCSE or Functional Skills alongside your main qualification.

Assessment Types
Your progress is assessed throughout the year. You will develop a variety of construction skills which will be tested by practical demonstration of your competence throughout the course. You will also undertake a theory assessment. A project based on one of the skills will be assessed in the third term.

- Introduction to Health and Safety in Construction
- Introduction to Bricklaying
- Introduction to Joinery
- Introduction to Electrical
- Introduction to Plumbing
You may also be required to attend GCSE English and Maths.
