The course is ideal in giving you an insight into the various career options in IT.

You will have the opportunity to study new skills in areas such as Computer Games Design, Database Design, Graphics, Web Design and other units that will prepare you for employment in the IT industry.

The course is equivalent to 2 A levels.

  • Computer Systems
  • Information Systems

Plus the following subjects

  • Digital Graphics
  • IT Technical Support
  • IT Systems Troubleshooting and Repair
  • Developing Computer Games
  • Installing and Upgrading Software
  • Database Design
  • Computer Game Design
  • Organisational Systems Security
  • Website Production

You will develop your functional skills in English and Maths or study these at GCSE

In addition to studying your main programme you will follow a course to improve your English, maths and employability skills.

All the programme units are assignment based.

Here you will have the resources you will need to complete your course, such as computer access and extensive learning resource facilities.

We also have excellent student support services to help guide you on your way during the course.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above ideally including Mathematics and/or English or equivalent (Level 2 Functional Skills), a Higher Diploma (which is equivalent to 7 GCSEs at Grades A* C, NVQ2 or level 2 Diploma at merit grade with ideally Maths and/or English at minimum Grade C or equivalent (L2 Functional Skills).

Some courses may require achievement of specific qualifications/grades. For example applicants for Level 3 practical programmes will be required to demonstrate that they have the relevant Level 2 skills.

The course will give you the opportunity to progress on to a HND/Foundation degree in areas such as Computing, Multimedia or Computer Game Design/Development.

The qualification is also excellent preparation for a career in many branches of the computing industries.
