The travel and tourism sector is one of the most fast growing sectors due to the increasing amount of travel undertaken for both leisure and business purposes. This rapid expansion has led to huge demand for a more skilled workforce. If you are one of the people who would like to join this workforce, then this course is for you. This course is designed to provide an introduction to the travel and tourism sector for those who wish to further their careers in retail travel, visitor attractions, accommodation, transport and tour operations.
The units you will study will include investigating the travel and tourism sector, the UK as a destination, customer service, European and long-haul destinations, and retail and business travel. The course is designed to provide you with an insight
The course is equivalent to one A level.
In addition to studying your main programme you will follow a course to improve your English, maths and employability skills.
All the programme units are assignment based. You will also be required to complete a sector specific work placement as part of your studies.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above ideally including Mathematics and/or English or equivalent (Level 2 Functional Skills), a Higher Diploma (which is equivalent to 7 GCSEs at Grades A* C, NVQ2 or level 2 Diploma at merit grade with ideally Maths and/or English at minimum Grade C or equivalent (L2 Functional Skills).
The course will give you the opportunity to progress on to a HND/Foundation degree in areas such as careers in one of its many connected industries, including retail travel, visitor attractions, accommodation, transport and tour operations.
