This programme has been developed to meet the needs of students wishing to pursue a career in the beauty industry, with excellent career opportunities and industrial professional development.
The highly motivated staff who teach on this programme are anticipating working with enthusiastic, dedicated, pro-active students who wish to become successful beauty therapists in a worldwide market.
This programme incorporates both theory and practical units to encompass a broad treatment base in beauty therapies.
The practical elements and consolidated by the underpinning theory elements.
Students ideally should have 3 GCSE’s at grades 4-9 including Maths and English, or a Level 1 qualification in Beauty Therapy with the appropriate level of English and Maths. However, previous experience and references will be taken into consideration.
If you are under 19 and you do not already have English and Maths GSCE’s grades 4-9 or equivalent you will be required to undertake GCSE or Functional Skills alongside your main qualification.
Assessment TypesStudents will be assessed through formative practical observation, end of unit practical exams, two end of unit tests and a synoptic assessment.

- Consultation and client care
- WaxingEyebrow shaping services
- Skin analysis treatments
- Manicure and pedicure services
- Light cured gel polish
- Eyelash and eyebrow tinting treatments
- Apply make-up
Students will develop practical skills to perform a range of treatments meeting the specification of VTCT awarding body requirements.
These skills will allow students to work both independently and as a team to gain a professional awareness in preparation for industry.
Communication and interpersonal skills desirable for employment will also be gained.
Careers/ProgressionThis qualification is recognised both nationally and internationally at commercial level and is recognised for progression to other Beauty and Complementary Therapy programmes at Levels 2 and 3.
