The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Treatments is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a nail technician. This course will support you to gain employment in the industry as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for these roles.

This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician including mandatory units covering the following: providing manicure and pedicure treatments, health and safety, client care and communication.

The structure of this qualification will enable you to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required for the role of junior nail technician.

The following are standard units:

  • Client care and communication within the nail industry
  • Manicure
  • Pedicure
  • Health and Safety
  • Provide and maintain nail enhancements
  • Additional unit dependant on skill level – Nail Art

 

During the course you will learn how to maintain natural nails as well as how to enhance nails by adding acrylic to add strength and length. You will learn how to create sets of coloured acrylic and how to infill and rebalance to maintain each set of nails. During the course, you will be motivated and encouraged to be as creative and bespoke as possible with each set of nails.

Assessment will be completed via practical assessments, online assessments and exams.

The course will be delivered in our nail/beauty salon for the practical elements and in our blended learning suite for theory.

Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology can be a route of progression, where you will learn advanced nail art techniques, sculpting, colour blending and colour fading, electrical filing, as well as other advanced techniques. Progression could also be onto beauty therapy courses.
