Advanced Pattern Cutter Apprenticeship (Level 3)
The apprentice will gain both technical knowledge and real practical experience, along with functional and personal skills. These are acquired through a mix of learning in the workplace, formal off-the-job training and academic study at college.
Knowledge covers the supply chain and customer base, the materials used in production, quality assurance procedures, working practices, communication and policies and procedures.
Skills include evaluating sewn product designs, creating templates and block patterns, producing prototype patterns for given designs, evaluating prototype patterns and producing final master pattern.

Functional Skills:

– Level 2 Functional Skills in English

D grade or above in GCSE Maths and English or Level 1 Functional Skills.
Designed to cover pattern production for all sewn products (not just garments) from clothing and fashion to leather goods, soft furnishings, knitwear, marine and medical textiles.
The program is delivered on a day release basis at Keighley College alongside employment.
