Improving Operational Performance – Fabrication and Welding Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)
The Fabrication & Welding – Plate working or sheet metal, Advanced Apprenticeship has been designed for individuals who are in a position of responsibility; including the supervising/overseeing of other staff and dealing with challenging issues. They are likely to deal with development of complex fabricated items which require technical drawing skills, production and development of weld procedures, problem solving and design and research activities of fabricated components.

Fitter Welder, Semi-Skiled Sheet Metal Worker, Welder/Fabricator
You will need to have completed Intermediate Fabrication and Welding and you will be required to complete initial assessments to ensure your suitability for the programme. GCSE Grades A*-C in English, Maths and ICT are desirable.
One day a week in your chosen campus (Keighley) is spent in college learning the theory and basis of application in a supportive learning environment.
For the rest of the week the apprentice will be in paid employment within a relevant establishment. The apprentice will be given the opportunity and support to practice and develop the newly acquired knowledge and skills.
