Business Admin Apprentice at United Parish of Keighley

Keighley Parish is a group of 4 churches around the town of Keighley who work together and provide spiritual, practical and mentoring support for a wide range of people in the area. It is also responsible for providing worship sessions in each of the church buildings and support and interest groups for the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Answering the telephone
  • Checking and answering e-mails and post
  • Keeping the online diary up to date and relevant
  • Ensuring the weekly news sheet is up to date and printed for each Sunday service
  • To develop and maintain the parish member database
  • To update the website regularly
  • To support the development of the social media for the parish within guidelines
  • To complete any word processing or spreadsheet tasks as directed
  • Photocopying and using copying facilities as directed

Key tasks:

  • To work alongside and assist the Operations Manager
  • To engage with and support from an admin perspective the numerous volunteers that work for the churches
  • To be able to engage with members of the public and to answer any queries or signpost them
  • There may be some off-site support needed by the Operations Manager


  • The post holder will mostly be based in the parish office based on Greenhead Road BD20 6ED
  • There will be some off-site work supporting the Operations Manager
  •  The post holder will be supported by weekly supervision sessions with the Operations Manager and a mentor for mutual support
  • Provision for appropriate training will be provided in partnership with Keighley College
  • C or above in maths and English plus a good level of IT skills
  • The appointment is subject to receipt of satisfactory references, completion of the process of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and satisfactory completion of 6-month probationary period

  • Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration (QCF)
