Motor Vehicle Studies Level 1 Certificate
The Level 1 Motor Vehicle course is aimed at introducing students to skills and techniques to enable them to progress onto higher levels.

This introduction in to the motor vehicle sector will prepare you for a career in the industry. You will cover units including health and safety, removing and replacing components, fault detection and repairing tyres.
Students also work towards gaining qualifications in literacy and numeracy, with extra support available where needed.

- Engine liquid cooling and lubrication systems
- Battery and lighting systems
- Vehicle braking systems
- Vehicle inspections
- Vehicle body repair

- Vehicle exhaust systems
- Vehicle valeting
The skills and knowledge gained from this course will enable students to progress to Level 2 Motor Vehicle courses. Students must complete successfully on this course if they wish to progress to the Level 2 Diploma.
You will be assess on your practical ability and understanding using a range of tasks set by the awarding body, a portfolio of evidence and a range of college tasks.

If you are under 19 and you do not already have English & Maths GCSE grades A-C or equivalent you will be required to undertake GCSE or Functional Skills alongside your main qualification.
