This course will provide students with the opportunity to carry out an in depth study of vehicle systems.
You will use various tests and measuring equipment and you will expand your knowledge of chassis systems, vehicle electrics, engines and transmission systems. You will also gain an overview of the roles available within the motor industry.
Students will learn about the construction and operation of all vehicle systems.
The course is divided between the classroom and workshop and students will study the following vehicle systems:
Vehicle electrical systems
The final unit covers vehicle maintenance
The skills and knowledge gained from this course will enable students to continue on to an apprenticeship should they be able to gain employment in the motor vehicle trade.
Students are continually assessed during this course with assessments being divided between classroom based theory tests and workshop based practical assessments.

Motor Vehicle Level 2 Diploma in Servicing & Repair (General Fitting) and GCSE grade D in English, Maths and Science.
If you are under 19 and you do not already have English & Maths GCSE grades A-C or equivalent you will be required to undertake GCSE or Functional Skills alongside your main qualification.
On completion of this course many students gain employment and move onto a Level 3 apprenticeship. Some students have moved into engineering and have eventually gained a place at university.
